19 years liow

Bahija started work on April 1 , 1996. Today I celebrate 19 years working anniversary , fast nya ... zooooom , dah 19 yrs ..I feel that time passes real fast. Thankful for the job I have now , at least it feed me and my family. Jia Yu !

Tak bayar tax

the other day , went to customer office , saw a pretty young girl with 2 luggages .. The officer told me she was at airport and immigresion stopped her from leaving country , why ? Sebab she tak bayar taxes.  So from KLIA she took cab to CJ tax office.  in a way , it is padan muka for her leh , tak bayar taxes and wasted her flight ticket etc ..

journey of recovery for friends ....

last year Aug , a close friend of mine, her healthy hubby suddenly had aneurysm in the brain ( blood vessel burst in the brain ) ... admitted ICU for mths , and he encountered miracle , today he is 100% recovered and started going back to work force , PTL.

last year Dec, another friend discovered stage 3 nose cancer ... she's an insurance agent and well to do, started treatement at private hospital and after 3 mths of treatment, she is free of cancer cells now ..

this year Feb , a very young fantastic young adult- father of a 1.5 yr old toodler , suddenly developed pain in stomach , then found out it was leukimia , admitted to hospital for chemo treatment and many other treatment ... he is still fighting for his survival now , wishing him luck, praying for miracle for him too , he is such a wonderful young man..

last month, another friend dignosed with cancer , she is also starting her treatment ...

tonight I am attending a wake service, my helper's dad gone home with the Lord , he fought his liver cancer,  PTL that he accepted Christ and did his water baptism 2 sunday ago ,  he is in better place now.  the Big C - is indeed a silence killer ,  on and off - I just hear who and who having stage 3 cancer,  kind of kia lang ....

One thing I am pleased to see is that , all those who recovered from the big C , they have a new perspective of life ,  they turn into a better person ( in my humble opinion ) ,  I like the new 'them' very much ... sometimes I like to think that maybe it is a lesson for them , to learn and be a better person , who can contribute more to others , in any area.

cheapest hair cut ...

today, I brought mama for a hair cut ... at one of those 'quick' cut outlet, just cut aje, without wash and blow dry facilities ... only $15 each cut.  It was my first cheapest hair cut ..hahaha. usually my hair cut cost me $80 la ,  so now , trying for cheaper alternative.  For the month of may and june, it is parent day celebration,  for anyone who is 55 yrs old and above ( 50 also they accept liow ) , bring another person less than 55 yrs old , it is $16 sahaja ,  it is $1 for senior ,and $15 for normal ....total $16 for 2 person , super dai leh ...so if you have senior at home, bring them la ... sama2 go hair cut , trim shorter a bit since weather so panas ...

Comedy Musical 'The Producer'

Tonight Bahija went dinner with 2 friends, Cindy and LK.  Then we went to KLPac for The Producer musical.  Very good, the local performers are really good , standard very good.  It was a good performance.  Bravo .... tonight is LK's first musical, have to encourage her to attend more , hehe

My 2nd AGM

Bahija is queuing registering to 'attend' mbank AGM, this is my 2nd time attending AGM as shareholder. I just want to check out he goodies nia ... Hope it is good and worth the effort ...

preparation for vacation

In 2 weeks time, Bahija will bring his elder 'special brother' to Hong Kong, mum and eldest sister also going along.  There is a lot of preparation this round, as it is my first time bringing brother overseas,  not sure if he can tahan the 4 hours flight.  I talked to 3 doctors for opinions, the answer was ' I am taking a risk, but it is do-able'.  For this trip , I contacted airline for special arrangement, special wheelchair and lift. Bought new lightweight wheelchair, received doctor letter, received special medication just in case he has non-stop seizures during the flight ( have to cucuk back side la , I oso takut ) ....special arangement with hotel , packing diapers etc etc like packing for a baby :)

Brother is very happy, he asked me to bring him to HK... I thought it would be a good idea to just fulfil his wish, as his water baptism gift ....those of you reading my blog, appreciate a prayer or chanting on my family trip , may we have a smooth and safe traveling.  thanks !

welcome my new sweetie U-bee

Today June 19, 2012 - Bahija officially out of being 'blue fan'.... Bahija had been using I-kei thinkpad since 1996, 2002 onwards with In-kei ,also using it. When I started my freelance career, I also purposely bought a thinkpad ( from OZ , courtesy of a good kind friend mah lau ).  Indeed, been a faithful user.  Bye Bye - sayonara

Today, I am a proud user of 'T' ultrabook , super light, just 1 kg. using SSD - WOW , a great marvalous experience for me. Now I on and off my U-bee in 2 seconds.  logon to network in subseconds , as compared to 10 mins previosuly, very malu when customer had issues, and I needed such a long time to logon and troubleshoot...

My last 3 top options : Dell, Asus and Toshiba.  Like Dell coz it is very small, neat, sleek looking - but doesn't come with accessories. Asus memang good, but need external accessories la. whereas T all in. so I just carry the U-bee itself nia. battery life has been great, I can go to work whole day without power cord. muahahaha....

Next, I carry a black leather bag to work , so light and elegant looking, no more heavy big bag pack... definitely a good upgrade for me. Loving this new working style so far ....Yahoooooo !!!

brother water baptism ....

Today marked another great milestone for my family. It's the water baptism day for my brother. Mum was happy and glad that he was given this opportunity.  Praise the Lord.

He had the special treatment, his confession statement was in Hokkien, pastor had to call many folks, finally manage to get brother Tio, who speaks good hokkien to perform the ceremony. 

Moving forward, I hope God remembers him, remembers that he is His son who suffers seizures everyday, all we ask is protection on him, when he falls, let him landed safely, when he has seizure attacks, let him be in good place and not harmful to him....

Brother was the first special 'child' who baptised in my church. He set a good testimony. Now , I received another request from another family, I will follow up with the special child and hopefully this Dec, we have another good celebration.... Happy Birthday Brother Teddy Bear !

A quick getaway

It's the end of the year and the month of December, bahija usually wish to be off work by now or away for vacation... But this year, both tak jadi.... So today when I sent my car for service near 1u, I decided to take a super quick getaway...walked to bus station, paid $9.60, boarded a bus to genting. Had lunch, redeemed my free Starbucks coffee, enjoyed the cool air for a while, reflected on my 2011 and my well being, set some goals ..and now waiting to board the bus back to 1U, collecting my car and go home happily...

P/s : I saw many uncles and aunties waiting for buses at this hour (3 to 4pm), heard they said going home to cook dinner..plus how much they have lost, aiiii, it's scary to be a gambler. The transportation is so convenient that one can sneak out to Judi and return with dinner, that the family member pun tak perasan their parent dah buang so much money away ....

antique golf umbrellas ...

I cleaned up my house, and ter-saw my super huge golf umbrellas....over the years - I collected these umbrellas , since they are huge, I never used them and they are my antiques :) , one dated back to 1999 ... one 2006, one 2010. Continue to simpan and be antiques la.

New work place

Bahija left in-kei June 2008, left the so called IT intelligent city...Since then bahija has been enjoying the breeze of working in KL, super close to house, no jam, no frill...as the saying 'good things don't last forever'. Today bahija is back to the old place, new building and currently it is the tallest building in this area, I think... Be here for min 3 years :) there are a lot of nice parks around here, hope I make use of the facilities ....

high expenses

lately Bahija not happy with the mthly expenses .... the major culprit is the sweetie car la. Aiii , last time the previous sweety changed absorbers pun in hundreds. Now - I got a SHOCK in office when the service man called and told me it will cost me RM5000+ to change my absorbers. I stunt, all this years, in my mind - I only pay that amount to fix a car in an accident lor, never in maintenance punya lor ..... aii, I opted cheaper version, didn't do it at the original dealer service center, went to Ah Kow car repair center to get it done for RM 3000 ...still mahal for me ..... today, my right headlight light bulb rosak, went to check price - aiyuh , RM 95 to tukar light bulb ...again, I chicken out , will go see Ah Kow again, hopefully the cost is < RM 50 la, I just paid insurance and road tax today - total RM 1400 .... aiiii , thesesday very dahsyat, asyik aje pay 4-digits expenses ....

vss ???

Tonight so happening... 2 person came to me separately , asked me if they should volunteer and sign up for VSS ( volunteering separation scheme ). My advice is if the person is 'fed up' and not happy at where he/she is right now, and not many family commitment , and still able to get job elsewhere, WHY NOT ? take it , after all, a durian runtuh lump sum payout money - doesn't come often. Plus , CHANGE could be good for us , sometimes .....I know my 2 friends wanted the package very much now, I wish you all the best, when dapat - can belanja big makan deee :)

1-11-11

Bahija started a new contract on Nov 1, 2011 .....'ong' date yea :) .... another 3 years to go for the same customer. Previous 3 years, I believed my team did well, we managed to improve quite a lot of things, that is why customer 'stepped out' and 'fight' for us from our giant competitor I-kei. Indeed , how cool could that be, we must have done well. Moving on, we have a lot of new exciting stuffs, I have to keep learning, keep cracking my heads for new skills, new training, new initiatives ... SYABAS !

Recalled back , first contract ended june 30. July - 1 month off - lepak to the max. Aug - went to USA/Canada. Sept/Oct - 2 mths temporary work contract. Nov onwards - back to employment. Bahija just Thank God for the provision and the great timing :)

As I always shared my proud career path : 6 yrs with I-kei , 6 yrs with In-kei, and now going to be 6 yrs with IR-kei , all 3 companies started with 'I' ..... I love them all !

new family member

Today my family celebrated baby full moon. My little nephew HoHo full moon, he is so leng chai, so cute and little ..... just adorable la. Me , the Ah Yee - love to hug hug him, talk to him, smile to him. His parent named him HoHo - to signify 'peace' , 'harmony' .... I love the scene where grandma hug him, hold him in her wrinckled hands and grandma talk to baby while baby look at grandma and smile - just have to treasure all those sweet moments, as time flies .... one growing up stronger and one growing older weaker ......

A good offer

2 weeks ago, bahija was offered a fantastic job opportunity, fantastic not because of the remuneration package, more on the environment. It was a temp work in Melbourne, and renewable. To me, that's a great offer for me to test working and living in Mel. But but but one of the major stopper for me is that I myself not very ok to leave due to family commitment. It's sad and I heart sore too... To the lovely friend who helped me in this offer, thank you very very much !

a great summer vacation

August, Bahija brought mummy to visit sister and nephew in Los Angeles, took a 7 days vacation in Canada visited Canada Rocky Mountains, Vancouver, Victoria - very nice .....good for my eyes :) , every day we saw many lakes, and the best was left to the last day - Peyto Lake ( photo attached ), quiet glacial lake :)

Glad to chat and skype with YaYa , Chu Chu and HT and my american host family who are now staying in Virginia.

Timing wise - it's perfect, August is fasting month, usually less work issues during this month, so perfect time for me to be overseas, PLUS my contract ended, so I could 'break-free' and just enjoy to the max without any 'liability'. On top of that, found a good special child center which could take in my brother and take care of him. All in all - I am grateful for everything.

Now that I have visited Canada, I kinda like Vancouver, for me, it is like San Francisco yet not so crowded. oh well, tourist view is always not the same as permanent resident .... one thing I like about Canada was immigration checked into Canada was easy and smooth within 15 mins. Likewise I spent 4 hours in LAX.

Life is short , time flies ..... 1 mth vacation over - now back to reality :)

stress ....

A friend of mine went to a fastfood chained chicken farm up north. Her work report on the chicken farm was like this : "the team which was assigned to conduct a 100% physical inventory count decided that it was not practical to perform a 100% physical inventory count on the parent stock as the female parent stock are in the process of laying eggs. A physical count exercise may stress the female parent stock and have adverse after effect on the productivity and quality of eggs produced" ......this is a real report, the chicken is well protected - coz they are the 'rice bowl', producing eggs for $$$. I want to bring to our attention that human being is the same too, thesedays a lot of issue/diseases are caused by stress. Aiii, if we can avoid stress , that be nice , easy said than done ....
