tonite's dinner

Tonight managed to make a quick stop at YaYa's house, to say Bye to her before she fly back to US besok....Aii, Bahija been relatively busy lately, rushing for a new project and due next week. I didn't spend much time with YaYa and little K. Anyway, I am sure they have had a great mini vacation back home :) ....After visited her , I rushed home arrived at 6:40 pm. Went to kitchen - pin pin bla bla ....viola - our dinner was sesame udon with grilled salmon. All set in 30 mins. While boiling the udon noodles, I applied miso paste on the salmon, then grilled it in the oven for 20 mins. Then put 2 teaspoon of sesame oil , 1 teaspoon of soy sauce on a plate , when udon was ready, drained and mix together with the oil and sauce. Very easy and healthy...sesame oil is cholesterol free and good for our health... Salmon is full of calcium and omega-3, noodles can use udon or soba ( buck wheat ) - japanese and korean noodles are better choice for us than our local mee hoon or yellow noodle or kuay teow ( all these high carbo ). I banned all the local noodles at home. Readers, next time, if u are in a rush, try this recipe la ...

homemade italian meatball spagetti

This year March, I hosted a mat salleh friend from Oregan. He sent his 'secret' Italian meatball spagetti' to me, tonight I tried....it tasted so well , awesome .... most important , it's so easy to prepare. Put all in slow cooker , then masak aje. I like it.

Today in office , my customer said to me, she wants to introduce mat salleh to me. Then she stopped and repeated "Mat Salleh ni nama dia Mat Salleh, bukan 'mat salleh' orang asing tu' .....gosh, I had a good laugh about this..... hmm, now I realize 'Mat Salleh' is a legitimate bahasa name eh... Malay version nickname the caucasion mat salleh, the chinese labelled them 'ang mou' which literally means 'bulu merah'. The other day , someone also told me a chinese who doesn't speak/know chinese is labelled as 'banana' ....Then an indian who doesn't know how to speak indian is labelled 'coconut' as in the old coconut - brown color outside, inside white :P

good halal local food at DU

last friday lunch, went to Damansara Uptown with ex-colleagues. We ate at Village Park restaurant. It is operated by a chinese-muslim couple. The business is good, the food is good too.. I ordered their famous dish - nasi lemak with ayam goreng for RM 6.80. The santan rice sedap and wangi. fried chicken tender and cripsy .... we were very happy with the food. Will re-visit. The restaurant is same row as HSBC , the address is 5, Jalan SS21/37, Damansara Utama.

Nyonya dinner ....

My little youngest sis attended the nyonya cooking class @ Hartamas ( RM 100 ) last Saturday ..tonight she tried her new skills...lots of hardwork. It's neat to have the whole family gathered together, and Makan Besar :) - a fun time to reconnect with each other... Yummy nyonya food too :- nyonya chicken, nyonya fish, and eggplant with shrimps
Tonight, we had fun time chilling at my sis new condo. Hmm, Bahija had the thought of staying in a condo liow....smaller space, easier to manage, shld be more secure, plus new place, cleaner , as compared to mummy's old house , costly to renovate ....hmmmm

RoomService.com

This is one of the thing I heard from the workshop I attended a day ago.... RoomService to your door step , how convenient, how cool it is ... I knew room service is available in the hotel. Now you can get it to deliver to your house , should rename it to 'HouseService' eh ...

I think Bahija likes this service a lot, as I'm quite lazy sometimes, sometimes I just like to hibernate at home, wake up with pj, then on computer chatting, surfing, working, or do housework ....just enjoy staying at home, and not wanting to take a step out of my house... time like this, I can logon to RoomService, check out the menu - be it Chiles, HardRock Cafe, Italiannies , chinese or tandorie or anything that is available ...click and order...then yummy food delivered to my doorstep within 1 hr , with extra RM10

I haven't try it yet, will give it a try very soon....for extra $10 - I think worth it , save me petrol , parking, hassle of driving to the restaurant, still can wear my pj :) ... Hope the food still taste good when it reaches my hand , I'll update you once I've tasted this yea :)
